your mercies are new...each day

...Saved Forever by Grace through Faith (Romans 5:1), Forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), Accepted (Romans 15:7), Beloved of God (Romans 1:7), Servants of the Most High God (Acts 16:17), New Creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17), Dead to sin, Alive to God (Romans 6:11), Walking in the Newness of Life (Romans 6:4), Baptized into Christ Jesus (Romans 6:3), The Temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 6:19), Clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:27), Holy (Hebrews 3:1), Blameless (1 Corinthians 1:8). At Peace with God (Romans 5:1), Christians (Acts 11:26), Born Again (1 Peter 1:23), Partakers of the Divine Nature (2 Peter 1:4), Empowered by God (Ephesians 3:20), Children of Promise (Galatians 4:28), One in Him (Galatians 3:28), The Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27), Seated in Heaven (Ephesians 2:6), Kingdom Citizens (Philippians 1:20), A Royal Priesthood ( 1Peter 2:9), Vessels of Honor (2 Timothy 2:21), Salt of the Earth (Matthew 5:13), Light of the World (Matthew 5:14), Soldiers of Christ (2 Timothy 2:3), Fishers of Men (Mark 1:17), Ministers of Reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18), Victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57).

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

When one of them invited him in to listen he declined. The following year he moved to New York, and when Billy was speaking at Madison Square Garden the man's job again was shuttling people to the meetings. As he got off the bus a lady asked if he'd like to join them. Once more he politely declined. He married an Australian lady and eventually ended up working in Sydney where, surprisingly, he was again assigned to drive people to the stadium where Billy was preaching. This time when he was invited he figured there was no escape, so he gave in. Looking back he says, "No matter where I went I was confronted with Billy Graham, so I went to hear him and committed my life to Christ.
Indescribable

I'll just say it again. For me, this is still the most perfect song. The video gave justice to it but it will never be enough. Something so great that no matter how you try to paint things in your mind or put into words, you just can't express it enough. You can just say "I love you God, thank you!".

So he sent for David to come and play his harp. As David played, "Relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him" (1 Samuel 16:23 NIV). This story teaches us two things: the power of praise, and the power of practice. David didn't suddenly discover his talent when he arrived at Saul's palace. No, he developed it through years of practice on lonely hillsides while tending his father's sheep.

When it comes to practice, the two most difficult challenges you face are (a) having the desire to do it, and (b) having the discipline to keep at it. Paul tells Timothy, "Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life… closely. A so cliche question that most of us still argue about to this day. So I told him "God never said --let there be eggs, right?" (in Genesis, all you'll see in the creation are birds, etc.). No more questions --faith of a child. I believe that when Jesus said "...if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out" (Luke 19:40), he also meant that everything praises God, whether you like it or not. Have you ever been in solitary confinement in a majestic place where you can see a beautiful horizon where the sun rises. It's overwhelmingly beautiful right? That's how nature worships God. The very splendor of creation does and it moves even unbelievers! If you don't see beyond that, maybe you're just seeing the tip of the iceberg, ...here (pic). Sundays always is my first day and Saturdays the last, to sandwich the low mid week. In reality, today is the start of days where my sons wake up early and head out for school.
Keep Treading And Trusting!

Seeing Yourself As God Does (2)

We... are being transformed into His likeness.2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV
A man who was feeling depressed went to see a psychiatrist. After sharing his problems he expected some profound words of wisdom that would make him feel better. "Well," the psychiatrist exclaimed, "I've diagnosed your problem. It's low self-esteem - and it's very common among losers!" When you view yourself negatively you tend to gravitate toward people who talk down to you. But when you know that God loves you and "plans… to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT), your entire outlook changes. With God you can't lose. Even if you stumble and fall He'll help you to get back up, learn from the experience and move on. When you look at yourself you tend to see somebody who makes mistakes and falls short, right? But when you begin to look at yourself in the mirror of God's Word, you see someone "being transformed into His likeness" (2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV).

Ever gone to a garage sale or an antique show lookin...

When the enemy lies, God sure knows how to pull you back with the truth -- "His truth".
__________________________________

We were like grasshoppers in our own sight.Numbers 13:33
When Moses sent 12 spies to check out the Promised Land, 10 came back saying, "We saw… giants… and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight" (Numbers 13:33).

Israel had repeatedly witnessed God's power; why now were they intimidated? It's a perception problem called low self-esteem, and it's how the enemy prevents you from winning. Anytime you have something of value, the enemy will attack you. In the Old Testament we read: "When the Philistines heard… David had been anointed king… they went up in full force to search for him" (2 Samuel 5:17 NIV).
A Gushing Water

For us to understand people, God sometimes put us in the same squeeze if not a more difficult situation. You can be hit hard and like war shocked soldiers, hurtful things can repeatedly play in our minds no matter how hard we try to snap out of it. The traumas in our life can be a reservoir waiting to explode if we don't learn to channel it properly. I was like that, I wish people will forgive me for it. I've realized today why I can't get a relationship to work even if I'm so convinced about the positive things people say about me, or even how right I might think I am in certain circumstances…even if I use the truth of the Word.

Medicine can have adverse effects if not taken in the right dose. So does our expressions to others. My valves were wide open. Yesterday, someone helped me turn it down. I realized how loud I could be about things.
Jesus Take Me

One of the usual routines I have in the morning is watch some TV -the "daystar channel" that is. While I make my coffee and toast bread, I usually turn my tube and listen to preachings. After listening to two programs I was about to turn it off. Then, a preview of Joni Lambs show was cued. Her guest was the rock star Brian "Head" Welsh. I'm no fan, I don't even know this guy, but the band "Korn" rang a bell. It was one of those grammy award, platinum groups that plays music on sex, drugs, violence. They were evil, but God really uses the foolish things of this world (even the foolish and evil things that we Christians should avoid) for His glory.

In the previous preachings I watched, they talked about how God's grace works --even without us knowing it. This complimented it and it moved me. Brian Welsh testified how God saved Him. In his testimony he would say the usual story about how fame, money, drugs and alcohol ruined his life and family (not career!), plus also a familia...

Jesus wanted to make sure this guy knew what he was getting into, so He said, “Do you understand what you just said? You said you would go with Me wherever I go. But I don't even know where I'm going to sleep tonight.
Tin Man - Pastor Nuel Nanez and I

This was taken by stuart weeks before that fateful day in Dec. 2004. If you've seen Lynn's CbnAsia donor dinner pics, it was this night. I was hanging out in Chaquico's Makati Ave with the gang from the cell awards night. After which I picked her up in a hotel after the

Got Any Splanchna?

I have learned a new word today. It's a greek word synonymous to "compassion". I was listening to a preaching this morning and it was talking about the strong word "hatred." When the preacher said hate can be good, I stopped and I got reminded with this verse in the bible about it. Here:

"There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers." Proverbs 6:19-19

Are we one of those who fall into what God hates? Probably not as wicked as this verse says but I guess we all do fall short. The bible says NOT ONE is righteous, EVERY ONE falls short of the glory of God...we are all sinners. He hates it so much that He sent His only begotten Son to save us from the doom ahead of us. He does it at ALL costs. That's "splanchna".

Have you ever b...
